ISTSS Seeks Nominations for Ochberg Award

Frank OchbergThe International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) is seeking nominations for the first annual "Frank Ochberg Award for Media and Trauma Study."

The field of media and trauma studies has grown significantly during the past half decade, with important research being conducted in areas such as psychiatry, psychology, sociology and communications. The Frank Ochberg award seeks to reward such study.

The deadline for submitting nominations is July 1. Winners of the Ochberg award will be recognized (along with winners of the ISTSS's other awards) at the ISTSS's 20th Annual Meeting, Nov. 14-18, in New Orleans, La. For more information about how to make a nomination, visit the ISTSS web site.

The ISTSS announced the creation of the Frank Ochberg award at last year's ISTSS annual meeting in Chicago, "in recognition of Ochberg's role in creating and sustaining this crucial and rapidly evolving field."

Ochberg is the Dart Center executive committee's Chair Emeritus.
