Nashville Banner senior writer Leon Alligood is telling the story of Michael Dixon, a youn man who was paralyzed by a stranger's gunfire, in 10 chapters.

Each day's installment provides new details about Michael's life, particularly his struggle to find meaning in his circumstances and the role his family plays in helping him find a future.

The chapters are based on interviews with Michael, his family,friends and former co-workers, as well as court records.
